I was thinking about that video some more and it reminded me of the movie "Never Back Down". Not exactly the same thing, but you might find this useful and if you already own this kind of ladder and have a place to put like in the clip, it will at least help you get started.
Check about 51 seconds into it and then when the ladder clip is over jump 2mins into it.
secondly though, I actually have a similar ladder in my garage and I use it in a similar way. However the salmon ladder is not a ladder as such.
it is basically a plyometric pullup where you actually push the bar up the notches on the ladder. I think it's a pretty impressive feat and I think apart from the awesomeness it also has value as a workout equipment.
These ninja warrior obstacle courses are pretty bad ass :)
