Up-Downs vs. Burpees

Postby leeroy » Wed Sep 02, 2009 8:14 am

Am I the only one who finds up-downs far worse than burpees?

10 burpees in a conditioning circuit is not so bad and I can usually knock it out in a little under 30s, but 10 up-downs sucks balls. I can't even fathom doing a 100 Up-Down challenge...

I hate up-downs, I don't really find them any more difficult than burpees but I actually hate the exercise itself ^_^'

They definitely suck. Let's start a 100 up-down challenge thread. Who's game?

Anyone have a good link to a vid of how an up down is performed properly? Every one I watch on youtube is different.

I agree with that. It is just not a fun exercise to perform in my opinion.

You run in place. Upon command you drop to the ground and get up as fast as you can again to start running in place again.

if you run fast in place with high knees these are very evil.

Sounds like the sprawl drill we used to do in wrestling. "SPRAWL!" *slam*

I prefer burpees, too - at least they have some structure (down, back, press, jump).

I doubt I"ve ever done 2 up-down reps the same in my life.

I'd probably lose a few teeth trying 100 up-downs for time.

Pretty much, the sprawl drill are in my opinion tougher since you should push your hips through which I dont think you need to do in the regular up-down in the same fashion.

And yeah it sucks.
