Stair sprints

Postby Daz » Fri Feb 24, 2012 10:18 am

Todays training: Some sprints up a disgustingly high / steep set of stairs

Apologies for the swearing now and again!

I'm a huge fan of stair sprints. I do them atleast once a week.

I'm mad at myself for getting into stair sprints. They took me away rom fight training cause i got a lot of enjoyment out of them. Nice and free though. You got a good lot of stairs there. I'll check the time to scale it, do you know the stair count?

306 in total, being an escalator though it's obviously half that so 153

Really steep, hard to tell from the vid

I like that. I think i have 40 steps at the local foot bridge. Then a 40 yard dash over the train tracks and several lands of traffic then 40 down.

1 pass is 80 up, 80 down and 2 40 yard dashes. I think its built for a good change in intensity and tempo.

i'd like a greater incline. Still its better then running bleachers. More private, i'm not going on slick seating beams and the stairs are spaced better then bleachers.

Thanks for this. I am going to give stair sprints a go. I recently moved and have been struggling to find a good hill. This has inspired to pop by where I work in the weekend and give the stairs a go.

Yeah, it's 5 mins from my house and next to the gym. I'd like to do it when no one is there. I've got no idea how I will get on with it and prefer to do it when no one is there.
