I train in SCA and battle re-enactment. I teach medieval combat in re-enactment and I fight with sword and shield in the SCA.
I am 6"2 and approx 16 stone at the age of 32.
Goals are tricky to determine but I want to be able to fight to my full capacity for the full duration of every tournament I enter.
End of the year my strength goals are:
5 ab wheel roll outs from my feet.
5 hand stand pressups.
5 one handed pressups
Currently I can do 0 of the above. I am aiming to do at least 1 of each by the end of June. This gives me almost 5 months to train up to them.
I my conditioning goals are:
50 pressups without stopping
50 full burpees without stopping
My explosive strength goals are:
10 clap behind the head pressups.
A set up tuck jumps but I am not sure how many I can do already so I will have to work out my goals for that later.
I will try to test these every month or so.
Currently I will try to stick to the following program:
Monday - max strength
Tuesday - conditioning and skill work
Wednesday - endurance strength
Thursday - conditioning and skill work
Friday - explosive strength
Saturday + Sunday - mixed skill work
This week the schedule looks like:
Dumbell clean and press 3x5 at approximately 25kgs
Dumbell rows - 3x5 at approximately 35kgs
Lunges with 40kgs dumbells.
Ab wheel roll outs - 3x5 from my knees.
Woodchoppers, as many as I can in 5 minutes
3 sets of 15 pressups
3 sets of 20 body weight squats
50 burpees as fast as possible, no jump or pressup I am afraid (at least not yet).
Sets of tuck jumps. Not sure how many I can do yet.
3 sets of 10 medicine ball throws (upwards)
3 sets of 10 medicine ball throws (across)
Training priority for combat sport is SKILL, CONDITIONING, STRENGTH.
I swear I will smash your face in with a brick if you keep arguing!logSCA intro
