Goodbye F-4 Phantom Jet Fighter

Postby bklynfirefighter » Mon Dec 19, 2016 3:52 pm

The end finally comes for the legendary F-4 Phantom
I was a crew chief on the F-4C for 2 1/2 years while in the USAF and stationed in England and once got to fly in the backseat while on a gunnery range mission in Sardinia....then out over the Med for aerial combat tactics
Top Gun showed some great flying, but to actually be strapped into a high performance jet fighter and flying in a formation of other fighters and strafing and dive bombing and dogfighting was just incredible ! :mozilla_cool:
The F-4 was one hell of an aircraft and I really enjoyed being part of it's long history
