Excuses Mean Nothing

I wanted to share with you a great video I recently watched that was posted to the BJJ After 40 Facebook page. You need to listen to the narration by Kyle Maynard to get the full impact of the video.https://www.youtube.com/embed/rUWVNECAvrA
In Consistent Persistence I talked through the points of developing confidence and silencing self-doubt. I talked through the battles you may have with your inner voice making the following point:
IF YOU ARE DEBATING WITH YOURSELF AND ALL OF YOUR DEBATE POINTS SOUND LIKE EXCUSES – GO TRAIN.
We’ve got to develop ourselves to truly come into touch with being alive. BJJ gives us an avenue to explore and uncover the person we are. You can not hide on the mats. And you shouldn’t be looking for ways to elude those challenges. Face them each and every day.
You will fail. You will get submitted. You will get choked. You will have a beaten ego.
You will learn. You will grow. You will evolve. You will become stronger than you can imagine, in all areas of your life.
Be consistent and be persistent. Nothing else matters.
“A brave person, a real fighter is not measured by how many times he falls, but how many times he stands up.” – Rickson Gracie
